Send Birthday Cards

While trying to clear my desk of junk recently I came across several notes/ letters from friends and family. This prompted me to rip off the return address and later add their info to Outlook. If I didn’t know the b-day I added “find B-day” to my outlook to do list with a reminder.

One thing that has helped is one of the ladies in a group of women I am friends with sent around an excel sheet and had everyone add or update their contact info including B-days.

My next step is to not only put in B-days to outlook, but put in a card reminder one week in advance so I can get cards out in time.

I’m done with the “belated” B-day cards!

Despite the oddles of crap mail I get daily I wish I received more “real” mail, specifically birthday, thank you and just because cards. It’s the thought that counts and I’m betting other people in my life (including but not limited to the serial card givers in my family who keep Hallmark in business) would be touched by a B-day hello in the mail.

1. Buy a stock of B-day cards, buy them when on sale periodically
2. Mark calendar for friends/ family b-days (hooray for outlook recurring events)
3. make buying b-day cards a habit
4. Keep stamps on hand

Better yet I may try to make some for that personal touch, but one thing at a time.
