Background: I met a fantastic woman about my age and while interviewing for a job. She is in a similar position to the one I interviewed for in a different dept. and she was in on the interview, but probably did not have a big role in whatever decision they will make this week. Through the two interviews and casual chatting before and after I found out that she is new to the city and possibly a little lonely for girlfriends. Being in the same boat we really hit it off.
IF I get the job I will definitely ask her to join some events with the volunteer org I work with and or with my group of friends who are all career ladies, so she can meet other people etc.
My Question is: if I don’t get the job would it be wildly inappropriate to ask her if she would like to join for one of our professional gals happy hours or other friendly networking events say a couple weeks later?
