Wow, it took two months to get here! The color that I chose had been on back order from Webs. (It’s a beige color, hard to believe it was on backorder!) The good news is that I still got it at the sale price which was offered in May, so the yarn for the whole thing cost less than fifty dollars, which is a great deal for 11 skeins of Encore!
Oh my gosh, what an intimadating amount of yarn! I think that Im going to wait a bit to cast on for this though, cuz I hat knitting something so big when it is really hot inside and out….maybe I’ll wait until September or so to cast on for this now. We’ll see.

I have had the “Tree of Life” afghan, designed by Nicky Epstein, on my queue at Ravelry ever since I joined Ravelry. Now I see that the Lion Brand Yarn people, who offer the design on their website, is having a knit-along for this afghan.
So, I took the plunge and ordered the yarn (Plymouth Encore) yesterday on the last day of the Webs anniversary sale. Woohoo! All the yarn was less than $40.00, a heck of a deal for an afghan! (The pattern was originally done up in a Lion Brand yarn, but everytime I’ve bought their yarn it is full of knots).
Today, I got an e-mail from the folks at Webs saying that the color I chose (off-white) is backordered, so it won’t be in stock for a few weeks. That’s okay….gives me time to finish up a couple “works in progress”.
