Last night I cast on for a little purse that uses the Fair Isle technique. (The “fake Isle” hat that I mentioned here about a year ago was just too darN ugly to finish!) This little bag uses only two colors but has a nice design.
So far, I have done 7 rows of the stranded colors. I think it’s going to come out just fine. Yay!

I was just reading the Spring 2007 knitty.com site and found this awesome pattern :http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring07/PATTbmp.html
I think these socks are lots of fun, and someday I would like to master the Fair Ise technique to the point of being able to knit them.

I cast on for the “Fake Isle” Hat in Fall 2006 Magknits. I’m using a Noro Kureyon in shades of purple, olive, and rust with a solid purple Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride worsted for the contrasting color. The first few inches of the hat look great! I’m about to get to the Fair Isle pattern and I can’t wait to start it.
