Okay, it’s not quite a “sweater”...it’s a shrug.
I made this for my daughter, thanks to my friend Rachel for modeling it, as my daughter lives in New York.
just need to block it and then mail it to her!

I started this sweater with high hopes back in March of this year. Then…...summer happened and it was just too darned hot to work on it. This week I picked it back up again, and am thrilled to find that I had already knitted the body up to the armhole shaping!!!! YES!!!!
I have some time off work after Christmas, and I am hopeful that I will get this sweater finished. It is such a CUTE design. And I compared it to a zipped sweatshirt I wear all the time, and the size looks perfect!
Tomorrow begins the second annual challenge called National Knit a Sweater Month. Similar to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), NaKniSweMo challenges participants to complete a sweater in 30 days. The guidelines suggest that most sweaters will have at least 50,000 stitches in thesem, similar to the 50,000 word challenge of NaNoWriMo.
I’m going to give this a shot, using some yarn that I purchased earlier in the fall. Others who are considering knitting a sweater might want onto this bandwagon too!
I’ve been wanting to make this sweater for quite a while now. The pattern is from the Fall 2006 Issue of Knitscenes. I finally purchased a copy of the magazine, and my yarn arrived last week. I’m going to cast on for this as soon as I finish my second Jaywalker sock!
