protect my skin from the sun

and it irritated my skin. So I returned it, and I’m back to my usual spf 15.

Well, I still haven’t made the long thought-about switch to SPF 30 for daily wear, but I did get a hat that’s 1) less crazy-looking than the back-up hat, which I’d been wearing since I lost my previous, reasonable hat, and 2) wide-brimmed, which the previous, reasonable hat had been but the back-up hat had not.
I think it makes me look like a naïve tourist from 1980s Scandinavia (not a good thing, you understand), but I prefer that to UV damage, I suppose. I do worry about the light reflecting up at me from the pavement, but I guess that’s what the sunscreen is there for.
