are not very conducive to healthy eating. i am really missing a home cooked meal right now… i’ve been eating nothing but junk for almost two weeks now—McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell, Papa John’s, Steak n’ Shake, chinese food, mexican food, diner-type food… it is getting old… and with all the grease and fat, i’m sure my gallbladder is hating me right now. i just want some plain jasmine rice, some fish, and some steamed vegetables. :( at least i have found a new appreciation for cooking…

someone brought in a box of donuts to the office today. no one touched them by the end of the day… so i indulged in one; man, was it good. so i went for a second one, and saw what looked like a maple frosted donut. my favorite. i knew it wasn’t good for me. something told me i shouldn’t eat it, but did i listen to that little voice in my head? NOOOOOOOOOoooooooo.
it turns out it contained something i’m (close to) deathly allergic to… within seconds after finishing the dang thing my lips, throat, and tongue got a funny feeling and swelled up like crazy… lucky for me my throat didn’t swell shut and the allergy meds kicked in or i’d be spending tonight in the hospital…
no more unidentified donuts. ok, no more donuts in general. not for a very very very long time.
to start packing my own lunch… sure it may cost me more (seeing as my lunch is free), but the food they order at the office and that the sales reps bring in each week is just not healthy… club sandwich here, turkey and swiss sandwich there, pasta and chicken the next day… if i see another greasy sandwich i think i’m going to hurl. :-&
i am doing better on this but maybe next time i should hold off on the hot peppers… i see heartburn in my very near future… ugh..
