I’ve been a stripper off and on for about 7 years now. Here’s some quick advice.
Don’t get caught up in drugs or drinking too much.
Don’t get caught up in the club drama.
Do save your money. (We have a shelf life in this industry the money doesn’t last forever.)
Do take care of your body. Dancing in heels all night is very hard on your body. You may not notice it when you’re young but you will later.
Don’t let rude comments or anything negative from customers get to you.
Do know that you are just as beautiful as the next girl and that different guys like different types of women.
Do go on stage with a smile and smile everywhere else in the club.
Don’t give out your number or see customers romantically (and if you do be very very very picky. Customer/dancer relationships don’t typically work out well.)
Do be nice to the other girls and the staff. If you all work together you will all make money.
Do keep your real life and your dancer life separate. You provide a fantasy for men in a fantasy world. When real life and fantasy mix it can cause trouble.
Don’t do “extras.” You can loose your job, get arrested, diminish your self-worth etc etc. The extra money that he might give you is never worth it in the long run.
Do plan for tomorrow!
