Become a model

Well, I am now in talks with an agency called Visionary models… the deal they presented to me sounds very inviting and exciting. I just want to make sure it’s all real and this isn’t some scam agency. I don’t think it is… I’ve been going over the contracts and it all seems to check out. But just to be safe I want to get a lawyer to look over it before I sign anything… But I’m pretty excited about the whole thing! Has anyone heard of this particular agency? Well I’ll let you guys know what I find out, and I’ll let you guys know if I sign the contract or not! :)

My favorite model, and who I most aspire to be like is Denyce Lawton. The reason I admire her so much, is because she’s not only a gorgeous woman and talented model, but she’s building her own empire. She started out as a print model, advertising hair products and things like that in magazines, then she went on to do commercials and music videos. She has since had several layouts in popular magazines such as XXL, the Source, and Smooth Girl. Not only that, but she’s started her own company called All That Glitters Inc., she published a calender called Top-X girls, and she is featured in two movies coming out this year: Redline and 7eventy5ive. Also, we are both multi-racial, and I can relate to her being African-American and Asian, because I, myself am African-American, Japanese, Puerto Rican, and Scottish. AND!! She’s only 5’5”!! And I’m only 5’4”. She’s definately a role model of mine. :)

I’m scheduling a photoshoot soon, just to build my portfolio. A friend of mine from school is a photography student, and he takes excellent pictures… so we’re building each other’s portfolios, lol. I’m going to get him to do my pictures, and he’s going to give me a discount on the shoot. It will be a whole roll of film and a few different looks. I’m going to use those pics for my model profiles that I have online, and also for each audition and read I go to. I’m doing a little modeling and a little acting. Wish me luck! Here goes a new career opportunity for me! :)
