I went out for lunch with a coworker the other day and we chatted more and more, past rush hour and dinner and into the night. She knew how to tell stories, introducing all the characters and what their quirks are, how she warned them about something, then it happened anyway, and how they ran around dealing with it. And of course, the punchline at the end where she was right and essentially told them “it’s your problem now”.... sounds more like bragging to me sometimes. My life’s events don’t have punchlines. I tell it like it is, and there’s no resolution, just an ever shrinking back and forth…. I don’t know if I should make up a good ending, or just end the story when I’m winning?
I feel like I’m not exciting enough…
