Well, my running partner did not show up this morning, so I took the opportunity to run further and for more time. I ran for 1 hour and a little over 4 miles! Woo Hoo!
Now I need to change both goals. My new goals are to run 5 miles and to run for 1.5 hours.
I ran for 45 minutes yesterday, in my neighborhood. I felt pretty good afterward, so I know I can run longer. However, I was just exhausted by the end of the day. Now I know why longer runs should be on the weekend, not during the work week.
This is as much a time issue as anything else. When I run during the week, its usually on a treadmill that others share. Also, I rarely have an hour to spend exercising during the week – other than Tae Kwon Do class. I do TKD on Saturdays, and run with a partner who is not yet up for running 1 hr on Sundays. Patience. She is gearing up for a 10 K in November, so we have to get there some time!
