Questions 41-50

41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
- My father most definitely.

42. Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous?
- No. Even the idea of that is insane, to be honest!

43. What is the difference between being alive and truly living?
- I think that those who truly live are most focused on the present moment and are not afraid to take risks. They never let fear influence their decisions. They never delay things they can enjoy today to be done “one day”. They act instead of making too detailed plans that don’t work in the real world. They love life and feel gratitude towards everything good that happens to them. They trust life/universe/God or whatever it is they believe in.

44. When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right?
- The moment I start to feel I know something is right, I do it. If I absolutely know for sure something is right – either that I’m going to succeed or that I’ll deeply regret it later in my life if I don’t give it a try now – then I also know I’ve done enough thinking and planning to just go for it.

Of course this depends on a risk I’m planning to take. If it can affect other people, I think and plan more than I do when it only affects myself.

45. If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?
- I guess many people believe that failure is not always just an event but sometimes also a person. That’s not true of course but beliefs aren’t always rational (or at least I know that my beliefs aren’t :-)). Some people might be afraid of what other people are going to think of them if they make mistakes in public.

46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
- I honestly don’t care so much what other people think of me – it’s my own (often harsh) judgement I actually seem to be afraid of. Of course it’d be nice if everyone accepted me the way I am, though, but that’s simply not realistic, so I prefer not caring what strangers think about me :)

47. When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?
- Today, probably.

48. What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love?
- Life and people. I do try to express my love everyday :)

49. In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that?
- I don’t think I’ll remember any particular day but I know I’ll remember this time.

50. Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you?
- I’m glad to say I really feel I’m making them myself :)

Questions 31-40

31. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?
- Today when I was laughing so much I almost cried :)

32. If not now, then when?
- Exactly. Probably never. I feel that if I want something to happen tomorrow, it has to have its roots in this day. Whenever I discover something I want, I try to have it immediately in some form. If I don’t act on it in any way, it’s just daydreaming.

33. If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose?
- I know. I guess I’m afraid of losing my own self respect if I fail badly :) It’s stupid, I know. Something I’m working on.

34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
- To be honest, I don’t think I have. Sometimes it’s of course nice to just Be and say nothing, but many of the discussions I’ve had with my friends have been so fascinating and interesting that I don’t think I’m going to start prefering being silent anytime soon :)

35. Why do religions that support love cause so many wars?
- I don’t think religions really cause wars, they are just used as excuses.

36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
- Probably not. I don’t think there are any objectively right answers to what’s good and what’s evil. I know what my answers to those questions are but they aren’t necessarily the right answers for everyone.

37. If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job?
- No.

38. Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing?
- I don’t do work I don’t enjoy. I’m free to choose what I do with my life so why would I?

39. Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before?
- Not really. Which is actually quite weird because my days aren’t that different compared to each other!

40. When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in?
- It’s been a while.

Questions 21-30

21. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?
- I’d rather be joyful, I guess, but then again I find this question a little bit… well, stupid :) I don’t see why a genius couldn’t be happy. Happiness has so much to do with the attitude and I don’t know why a genius couldn’t choose a positive outlook on life.

22. Why are you, you?
- What a difficult question… All of my life experiences have had their effect on me. If I really have to answer something, then I guess my parents have had the biggest influence on me so far.

23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
- I’ve tried my best :)

24. Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?
- It really depends which kind of a friend we’re talking about. Some of my friends live far away and we’re still able to feel close to each other and keep in touch, but I know that this wouldn’t work with other kind of friends. And on the other hand losing touch with a friend that lives near me isn’t always a bad thing – people change, common interests sometimes disappear. Sometimes two people are better off without each other.

I think that if I lose touch with a friend, then we both probably do better off without each other because otherwise we wouldn’t have allowed that to happen. That way it’s worse to have a good friend to move away.

25. What are you most grateful for?
- Being alive.

26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
- Quite an impossible question to answer because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have the memories I have now. I wouldn’t know who I am without them but there wouldn’t be much point in doing anything if I wasn’t able to make new memories either.

27. Is it possible to know the truth without challenging it first?
- I don’t think such thing as objective truth exists. Truth changes. What was truth for me yesterday isn’t necessarily truth for me today, and yet I know I’m likely to have changed my mind again tomorrow. That’s okay for me. I’m not the same person all of my life.

28. Has your greatest fear ever come true?
- Yes, one of them has. It was quite as bad as I imagined it to be, perhaps even worse. But I survived.

29. Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now?
- I do and yes, it matters. Of course the usual little everyday worries don’t matter even one year from now but the big ones do. I wouldn’t be the same person had I not gone through everything I was upset about five years ago.

30. What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special?
- I don’t have any special memories in mind, but I guess what I miss the most is feeling safe. I never imagined anything bad to happen.

Questions 11-20

11. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?
- I’d tell I feel they’re being unfair with their criticism. They’d have every right not to share my opinion, though.

12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
- Decide what you want and then work to get it.

13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
- Definitely.

14. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
- Most likely yes. I can’t come up with an example but I’m sure I have.

15. What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
- I think I might have understood earlier how much power we have over our lives and how fast time runs than most people, which is why I’m also doing things differently. (For example many of the people in my life talk about moving abroad once they’ve retired / their kids have grown up / they’ve tons of money / they’ve graduated from university / you name it, but I’d never dare to wait that long to do something I really want. Perhaps if you wait long enough, it’ll be too late to do it anymore.)

16. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
- Well, not all things that make other people happy make me happy. I don’t really understand this question, to be honest, as I think it’s obvious we’re all different and have different dreams and goals in life. I like that – I think it’d get boring quickly if we all were the same!

17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
- Moving abroad. My health issues are holding me back at the moment but I’m doing my best that they soon won’t do that anymore!

18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
- Definitely. I’ve many limiting beliefs about myself and reality I really need to let go of. I’m working on it!

19. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
- Spain, quite obviously :) I like the people, the atmosphere, and the way of life.

20. Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
- Nope, I push it only once.

Questions 1-10

1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
- I’ve no idea, to be honest, but then again age doesn’t matter to me that much anyway :) I’d probably think myself to be a little bit older than I am.

2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
- Never trying, of course. Failing isn’t something to avoid at all costs – it happens to everyone who even dares to try.

3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
- Because most people never realise they’ve 100% responsibility for their own lives. There are very few things we actually have to do. Other than those few things, we’re free to choose what we want to do with our lives. It’s just that most people never take the time to find out what they want, not to mention they’d try to get it. I feel it requires a lot of courage to accept you’re the one who has all the responsibility for your life.

4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
- I’d like to think I’ll have done more than said. I’m more afraid of not having done something in my life than doing it.

5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
- Unhappiness. I feel that’d solve a lot of problems. If everyone was happy, felt loved and loving and important, the world would be such a different kind of a place to live.

6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
- Something that’d make a positive difference in other people’s lives.

7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
- I’m doing what I believe in. I try to never settle.

8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
- My mother died in her 40s so I’ve known for a long time no one has promised the future for us. I don’t think I’d do anything differently. Perhaps I’d take more risks, but that’s something I want to do now too even though I’m planning to live a very long life :-)

9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
- I feel I’ve done everything I’ve been able to do. I don’t like travelling without a destination when it comes to my life so I most of the time have had something in the horizon I’ve been trying to reach.

10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
- Difficult question! Unfortunately I worry about both.
