I did it – I ordered prints. From shutterfly, and it was a PITA – so if someone has a favorite way of ordering digital pics online I’d really like to know what you use and what tricks there are. In my opinion it took too long, it was difficult to see what I still needed to upload and what I had already put in my cart. Uhg.
Other progress was made on this goal as well by reading my manual. I’m about a third of the way through it. There’s lots of stuff that I now know what the symbol means but I don’t know enough about photography to make much use of it. That will be another goal at a later date. Figured out the self timer, dislay options, selecting stuff of the menu – basic but good to know stuff.

found the manual – mind you I haven’t read it yet, but at least now I can.

Can’t find the manual. Hard to learn what all those symbols are when I don’t have the manual! I suspect it’s in one of the boxes that got stacked when I painted the downstairs. Arg! Now I have to organize all that crap before I can move forward on this goal. Actually, I figured out how to take a movie with the camera- my oldest thought it was great fun!

making progress. Last night I installed some software, did some editing of photos – simple stuff like red eye, croping etc. and then I sent one email with photo attached and I put some up on web for another person to look at.
All basic stuff but I’ve never done it before!

So I was able to hook up my camera to my computer and uploaded the pics. Wow – that was easy – I could have done that the other day but I thought it would be more involved. I ordered a new SD card this morning too.

Got the software installed and before I could try using it I got interrupted by kids.

Got my camera on a Thursday and over the weekend I was able to figure out enough to fill up my memory card. So –
1)memorize all the different special ‘scene’ icons
2)install software on my computer
3)figure out how to get pics from camera to computer
4)learn how to alter pics
5)print a pic
6)read manual for all the special features on camera
That last one will take a long time, but I’d like to do steps 1-5 quickly.
