july / august book... LIFE WITH MY SISTER MADONNA By Christopher Ciccone 16 months ago

NOVEMEBR / DECEMBER BOOK: HOW TO SLEEP WITH A MOVIE STAR by Kristen Harmel 2 years ago

This book was great after you got through the first three chapters. she kind of kept saying the same thing over and over again about her boyfriend, and it was quite obvious to the reader what was going on, and unnecessary dialogue. after that the book is quite funny and a real page turner. i leant it to my mate who read it all on our flight from la to sydney.
publishers blurb:
Don’t forget your integrity. If you have it, locate it quickly because Cole Brannon is sexy and disarmingly genuine, like no other celebrity you’ve interviewed-and you’ve interviewed just about all of them.

Don’t let it be all about him. Keep your mind on your backstabbing editor and freeloading ex-boyfriend. As long as you’re not thinking about Cole Brannon’s laughing eyes or sweet nature, you’re good.

Don’t be too charmed when he asks you to brunch. Unless he takes you to a small-time diner where he knows everyone by name. Then resistance is futile.

Be unflappable. Even as you start to become the headlines you used to write, don’t let it get you down.

Ignore everything, and follow your heart. You’d be amazed where it will take you, if you only let it…

bright lights, big city by jay mcinerney 3 years ago

i completely forgot about the movie version of this book until just now!

when i first met fab from the strokes late last year, they’d just done an interview with jay mcinerney for the new yorker for a piece about their new album, first impressions of earth. jay had sent a copy of the book over to the wizkid mgt office for the guys to read, and i remember him showing it to me and i read the inscription which said something along the lines of ‘so you can see how it really was’, and that always intrigued me and made me want to read it. so it’s september’s book. as always, i’d love to know what other people have thought of it. but i’m excited!
