be an artist

It’s all going a bit crazy here.
I’ve spent all weekend framing up new pictures, firstly for an exhibition at a small gallery in town (Roots, Bath Place, Taunton) which I’m king of curating. Secondly, for a craft fair that I’ve just found out about. I agreed to have a slot, then panicked, because everything I had ready has just gone up in the Roots show.
I really feel like I’ve gone from 0 to 60 in no time at all. Am I an artist? I’ve sold paintings and photos to people not related, or even previously known to me. Maybe this counts?
I’m definitely getting there. Lets see how the new show and the fair go.

I’m kind of doing this already, but it’s such a work in progress. I think I’ll feel like I’ve made it when I’ve had a solo exhibition. At least that’s a concrete goal to aim for.
