I’ve got some co-workers that are making unrealistic promises and I’ve found myself & my team having to scramble to save face for his over unrealistic commitments. Argh.

Is this ever pertinent 4 years ago

I’ve got a co-worker promising the moon & beyond to our customer. It’s not realistic, it’s not honest and it does not look ahead to the DISAPPOINTMENT that they will have once they get the real/true picture. This is overpromising no matter what we end up delivering.

It just drives me NUTS when people make commitments to friends or business associates/customers that they either are: (a) unable to meet, (b) unwilling to meet, (c) or don’t follow through in order to meet. How inconsiderate.
