OK, I do appreciate tax deduction of itemization. But knowing how I hover around tithing, makes me a more generous “giver”. I do actually need to check my gifts against my income…may have this goal accomplished!

And I figured I’m much closer to tithing when I consider all of my other charitable giving (beyond my church). Onward!!
I’ve just made the commitment to increase my pledge/gift for 2006. It is not yet a tithe (10%) but it is progress.
I never cease to be amazed by the wide & varied choices made by people re: money—especially as it relates to charitable giving. Some have so little financially but give so much.
Had a acquaintance/friend pat themselves on the back over their tithing. There’s nothing to flattering about the proud / suffering servant!
It’s not because the church or the Bible or any other historical document may ‘tell us’ to do so.
It’s because 10% is such a SMALL amount to give back for all that I am thankful for…
I have to admit, I didn’t think tithing was any huge sacrifice or accomplishment until I learned it was was of GROSS rather than of NET. Something to strive for…
