the carrot dangled before my face 19 months ago

i keep chasing the way i once had the laundry under control. i was doing one load per day, including folding and putting it away. it was never overwhelming and just took a few minutes a day. i am almost there again and now that bear bear is in preschool and fat baby is happy as long as you’re in the same room i am confident i’ll get there again. by my calculations i should be on autopilot by wednesday. i am also hoping that my massive culling efforts will ease the laundry volume. how did women do this when you had to go down to the river and beat the clothes (that you made yourself) on rocks, hang them to dry and then iron them with an old fashioned iron heated by the fire? geezalou!!

i ain't afraid of no clothes! 20 months ago

i just folded a mountain of clean, fresh clothing and the dryer is humming with the last load. i feel victorious, however i do fantasize about moving to a consistently warm climate wear my children can thrive on 3 outfits. we could live in a hut on a remote island and air dry our minimal laundry in tropical breezes as we frolic and lounge away all the free time we have since mama is no longer a laundry slave….

come with me fellow laundry slaves and we shall live in a washing machine free utopia! who’s with me?

and the award goes to..... 20 months ago

the man. he stepped up to the washing machine today.

still fighting the battle 21 months ago

i have a lot of laundry baskets (6 i think) and this makes it seem as tho things are more under control than they really are. no clothes are on the floor, but they’re not folded in the drawers either. getting better, but geezalou what a pain in the derrier.

with a family of 5... 21 months ago

the nudist colony is starting to sound like a viable option. step one is to fold all clean laundry and put away. step two is to wash dirties. step three is rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat every day until the children are old enough to join nudist colonies of their own. i need to get back to doing one or two loads per day. life was better then.
