As it turns out, knitting is not my forte.
But I bought my own needles, and very pretty fuchsia yarn (which was expensive-ish), so DAMN IT I WILL LEARN TO KNIT.

I’ve had this goal listed since I joined 43Things. In the grand scheme of things, I guess that wasn’t so long ago, but, you know, it’s still been a while. I posted this goal very hopefully, because the crux of the matter is that I don’t know how to knit. I’ve always crossed my fingers that someone would teach me, because I tried to teach myself once, and, well, let’s just say that it did not end well.
But now, the finger-crossing has turned out to be fruitful. A girl in my program is an avid knitter-she knit herself a shawl within two weeks. She’s volunteered to lead a knitting workshop, and so we’re going yarn shopping this weekend. We’re starting with a hat (she has a vast collection of hats she’s knit, and they are ADORABLE) but I feel like a scarf might be next.
