Organize My Office

I spent 7 hours on this today and it barely made a dent. Like all projects like this it is going to take 3 times as long as I thought.

This begins today. I just returned home last night and I have to have a working office in order to pay our bills. It was a disaster trying to do it on the road. I am going to get everything in order and then go back to NYC one more time. I will feel so much better leaving with everything in order…actually I can’t really leave unless everything is in order. The really great thing is that I am not at all stressed about this. I am excited even knowing all the complexities that are involved.

when I get back to Texas. I need a place that is clean and organized. I think I will use the existing office. It is a total mess but cleaning it out is also on my list so it feels like a 2 birds 1 stone kind of thing.

one thing I have figured out is you have to completely redo things periodically. What I mean is in the course of life things can get a bit jumbled-even if they are basically organized and it is a good idea to redo, reevaluate(is this still working?) I had the false impression that once you were organized-you were organized. I know all of this must sound so basic but I have never been organized and I am learning everything from scratch. It is so liberating not to fight with this anymore—just accept that it has to be done(if I want to be able to find anything) and move on.

I need a notebook I have at home but will ask someone to send it to me in the next couple of weeks. If I am going to have a beautiful kitchen garden this spring I am going to have to do some of my prep work from NY…I have my catalogues with me and can organize everything now. Maybe this should go under the Kitchen Garden goal…but it also requires organization so this works.

I ordered these bags before we left because I have been traveling with shopping bags and it always dwindles into a disaster 100 miles into the trip. My new bags are “magic”bags-I have been gone 2 weeks so far and I have been able to find anything I want when I want it-it has been amazing.

This is too broad for me to handle…I am working on paperwork and getting things to the proper room/house right now.
