Well. Training will be put on hold for a while longer. I can do some strengthening exercises but my foot injury that I thought was better is well… not better. The cortisone shot took care of the pain but it was only temporary and is now back, of course. I saw a specialist at the hospital’s sports medicine department who indeed saw a fracture on the xray and wants to remove a portion of the offending (and non-healing) bone. He’ll reshape what’s left so it’s nice and then we’ll hopefully be on our way to recovery (and a repeat).

This is an old goal I gave up on last year. I am readopting it because it is still something I’m shooting for. Last year was a tough year, first mono, then a muscle strain and then a two month foot injury. If I can continue to stay strong, healthy and dedicated, this is a very feasible goal.
