I didn’t make as much progress with French as I would have liked and I don’t want to immediately learn it, so it’s being put on the back burner to go back to learning Czech. I know it’s not practical but I really love how it sounds.

Yeah, I had to take one more semester of a language and I picked French. It was my only true option, but maybe this will force me into the whole learning another language thing again.
My professor was talking about how all these other countries know at least 2 languages at an early age and I really want to be a part of that. She also said that it’s really hard to immerse yourself in another culture when you’re traveling without speaking the language.
I almost don’t want to go to Europe until I can do this. This could take awhile…
Being back in nyc really made me want to attempt this goal again. I felt so out of place not being able to speak another language. Not to mention I really want to visit other countries and it would be nice to know something other than English.
Well, now I’ve decided that I’m going to listen to my czech tapes while I’m driving around at night doing my route. I might as well be doing something other than singing along to the radio really loud.
Right now I’m learning czech, because I like the way it sounds, but I think I’d like to be fluent in a more useful language. I’ll probably end up settling for spanish, since I’ve had four years of it in school, but I really don’t care for it much. Maybe I should change my goal to: being fluent in a nice sounding language. I’m ridiculous. haha
