new place, old things — 1 year ago
i’ve just signed a year lease and moved into an actual HOUSE, which is a big deal for me. i don’t think i’ve lived in the same place for a whole year since i was 17. so i’m really trying to settle in, without spending much on furniture as next year i may not be in this country. one of my roommates gets here on WEDNESDAY, so i want to have the whole house cleaned (landlord got sick and couldn’t finish the job) and all my own stuff put away before she gets here. my younger sister will also be living with us, but she won’t get here till the end of the month. i just want to have the bed in her room set up for her when she gets here. i’ve also got lots of little things that i know my sister will like, to help her feel more at home – but i need to think about what sort of things my other roommate (who i’ve also lived with before) would like to come home to!
on my “unpacking” list right now:
-finish walkthrough of house with checklist
-clean other bedrooms
-clean bathrooms, living areas
-finish cleaning kitchen, hallway
-clean up/rake yard
-move bed frame into sister’s room
-dust bookshelves
-find a home for all of my junk!
