Good book, but confusing on how the story line plays out since it’s told by different characters. A little long for how much story line there was.

when bodies remember- fassin. an erudite book, so erudite that my lexicon couldn’t keep up…

35: A Fortunate Man—a book about a country doctor. he’s demigodlike. unfortunately if you look him up he committed suicide.. not so fortunate anymore now is he?!?

36: AIDS and its Metaphors

37: Illness and its metaphors- Susan Sontag—book about how illness is constructed and perceived. awesome.

38: The Spirit Catches You and You fall Down- Anne Fadiman.
Awesome work about cultural relativism and the manner in which people aren’t all that great at making cultures work together for the good of all the constituents.

39: Kudu Sorcery—cannibalism is the correct answer. if you want a weird brain disease that is!

40: A Leg to Stand On- Oliver Sacks. totally awesome book considering my last year. considers the psychosocial element to injury and how doctors perceive patients.

Awesome book on how the agricultural revolutions are, in fact, devolutions.

Book on midwifery. very interesting. perhaps i’ll go to mw school after getting my RN. hmm…

I think this puts me back on schedule for finishing by the end of the year! yaya!!!

(not only that but summer school has forced me to read things that are considered ‘quality’ instead of the bullshit I usually read…)

(now to write a paper comparing and contrasting marx and weber. that’s going to be a bitch—eh, at least i got to read harry potter in the middle :))

755 page book—read in 6 hours. Damn I’m good.
