give one new Kiva loan per month for a year

I loaned Margie Jimenez, of the Philippines, $25 to help grow her food vending business. She has hopes for her 12 year old son’s future.

Dédé ATANDJI in Agoe, Togo wants to purchase 132 pairs of shoes to continue her shoe selling business, which she has been involved in for many years. I contributed by lending her $25. I wish her much success!

I have made a loan to Nazario, in Tarma, Peru, who would like to purchase fertilizer for his thoughtfully planned and developed agricultural endeavors.

This month’s loan went to Carolina Ayala Ávalos in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador, who has a food market, which sells seafood, fruits and vegetables. She currently makes about $200 a month to cover the living expenses of her family – herself, her husband and her two children. The loan will enable her to increase her offerings and improve the life of her family.

I managed to find this loan to help fund amid a serious scarcity of loans on the Kiva web site – the Juana Berroa Mercedes Group, from the Dominican Republic, several businesses who sell, among other things, ice cream, fruits, and vegetables. One of the entrepreneurs would like, ultimately, to start a cafeteria.

This month’s loan goes to the Annet Kalyesubula Group, eight Ugandan fish sellers, to increase the amount of fish that they can sell, thereby improving their lives.

This month’s loan went to Juana, in Peru, to support the upkeep of her motorcycle-taxi vehicle, which her son drives.

This month’s loan goes to José Angel Lechuga Robles, in Chontales, Nicaragua, for building himself and his wife a house.

This month I have lent to Abdul Bashir Abdul Rahim, in Afghanistan, so that he can build himself and his family a house.

Some of the money I have lent in previous months has been repaid, making this loan easier to make.

Whew, I had to act fast! The Kiva loans are going like hotcakes!!

This month’s loan will go towards Cambodian Chhorn Chan’s intention to purchase a plow for her and her husband’s farm.
