Get out more

Went to see Al Green at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow last night. A friend suggested going: I was only vaguely aware who Al Green was!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Jack Dee Concert (see http://tvor.blogspot.com/2005/03/jack-lad_24.html ). Each time I’ve been to a concert in the past I’ve said to myself “I really should go to more live performances”. Really mean it this time!

Recently Wosog (Wife of Son of Groucho) and I have gone to see a couple of films at weekends. I work some weekends, so I feel it is important for me to make more of the ones that I do have free.

The first film was “The Aviator” (see: http://tvor.blogspot.com/2005/01/aviator.html ), and last weekend we went to see “Sideways” (see: http://tvor.blogspot.com/2005/03/sideways-glance.html ): two excellent movies that we both enjoyed (we don’t always fancy the same films).

In the Sunday Times this weekend there was an advert about a concert featuring the stand-up comedian Jack Dee. It’s later this month, and a few days after my birthday, so we’ve booked a couple of tickets. It feels so good to have something to look forward too in the not too distant future!

My job takes up so much of my time that I must be more organised in order to make the best use of the time that I do have available for myself.

There’s no point in making money if you don’t enjoy what it can buy. Recently a work colleague only a year older than me died suddenly: it really makes you think. As someone else said in reference to this “Life isn’t a rehearsal….”
