Restarting... 2 years ago

I have not been doing this for sometime. Now I am restarting it.

Have not been doing this… but believe me, not doing this made a lot of difference in my life. I was sooo depressed about my loss. Oh wait… wasn’t it the depression that made me lazy to do this activity? Oh yeah!

Sony is going to be more strong and continue this activity!

1. Another fruitful day at work.
2. Had a relaxing time at J’s cafe today (after a long long time).
3. Almost emptied my laundry basket.
4. I was able to withstand my pride and help a few people who did take me for granted in the past. At first my ego wouldn’t allow me to help them. But once I helped them, I’m feeling happy.
5. It’s good to know that there is someone who misses you - even if it is a teeny-weeny bit. ;)

1. I spent my time fruitfully at work. That is what is called “Job Satisfaction”. I impressed a couple of my colleagues too.
2. I had a long chat with an old friend and it is interesting to see that as life m
oves on how much respect one can gain (or sometimes lose) from other people.
3. On the same lines, when you want to talk to this person, he/she acts as though he is too busy and not so interested. And then when you decide to stop talking since that person isn’t interested, he/she is behind you. And to some extent the latter did make me feel good and important today. (Btw, I was not trying to hurt anyone. I just thought if people don’t want me around, I would rather not even go near them.)
4. I’ve finished packing the books and CDs, as part of moving out this Saturday.
5. I had 2.5 liters of water today. :-)

I went to the church and later to the pub with my churchmates. We had a great laugh and I enjoyed the time I spent with them.

1. Plant something and nurture it.

I have never ever planted anything in my whole life. Does that sound strange? I didn’t realize it was so important either. I have been moving around quite frequently. But that isn’t an excuse. I’m moving out to my new house on Saturday. So I could consider getting myself a flower pot.

2. Count your blessings – at least five – at the end of each day.

I have started off by writing one thing that made me happy for the day.

3. Take time to talk – have an hour-long conversation with a loved one each week

The fact is that there is no one left I would want to share my true feelings with. So I’m just trying to think of whom should I be talking to. Could it be the “Dear Diary” ?

4. Phone a friend whom you have not spoken to for a while and arrange to meet up

That’s something I got to do! There is a long list of friends I have been “avoiding” for a while now. Then again, most of the friends I don’t meet up (but would want to) are in India. So may be I could stop with the first part – “phone a friend”.

5. Give yourself a treat every day and take the time to really enjoy it.

A treat everyday? Should it have to be food? I hope not! I’m doing that a lot and God knows when I’ll become obese. I would rather consider treating myself to Artist Dates instead.

6. Have a good laugh at least once a day.

May be I should subscribe to one of those “Joke for the day” sites. There are a lot of reasons in my life to smile at. But only the mess I’ve made with my life is laughable and that too for others, not for me! ;)

7. Get physical – exercise for half an hour three times a week

Half an hour walk every day is one my goals.

8. Smile at and/or say hello to a stranger at least once each day.

That’s something I should do!

9. Cut your TV viewing by half.

I don’t watch TV at all!!! But I do watch movies on DVDs. May be I should reduce that. I have canceled my subscription at LoveFilm, btw. How about “cut your internet surfing by half” ? That’s the other addiction I have now.

10. Spread some kindness – do a good turn for someone every day.

Easily said than done. Only the other day, I was thinking I was being a doormat. But think I should change my thoughts.

I’ll keep updating this entry as time passes and see if I can achieve all these. If I can do all these activities continuously for atleast a month, then I can consider this goal done.

Someone (NM) who had looked at me with contempt earlier, called me and showed me some respect finally.

When I was feeling sad, someone whom I never knew gave me an “e-hug” through 43Things. (That really did make my day, no matter how strange it may sound to some of you!) Thanks again, Padatha!

Why is this in 43 things? 2 years ago

I was feeling so low since last night and had a terrible day. Then today I was re-stocked with some cheers, and so decided to say “Cheers” to a few entries/goals and I came across this goal. I could do with this gratitude journal to cheer me up when I am in the dumps.

The actual inspiration came from Mindy who has kept this going for almost two months now, I think.
