photoshop workhorse 3 years ago

not! So no, haven’t gotten back on that horse but am getting closer. worked on a few things in photoshop but not enough. forgot some of the things i learned. got away with my skimpy knowledge anyway to do a couple of things to help a friend with their website. transform tool, i will never forget. hard to keep motivated with photoshop. you really have to practice all the time to retain and recall the knowledge. respect to all the photoshop masters out there! you guys really pay your dues and put in the time!

OFF 3 years ago

Fell off my photoshop horse and haven’t gotten on. I don’t have anything pressing to do in photoshop and therefore I haven’t worked on it in a couple of weeks. Not that I didn’t have time to update since 14 weeks ago- just that I don’t have anything new to report! :-( It might be best to go to a class for this. Or meeting with one of my Photoshop friends with a specific question, weekly. Hmmm.

Transform and Modify 4 years ago

I’m really lucky to have master photoshopper buddies. It’s really hard to just pick up a book and practice “whatever”. It really helps to just start your own project and if you don’t know how to do what you need to then either the long way of hunting out how-to from a book or the internet or calling up someone who will tell you one way or point you in the right direction or maybe somebody who knows. My rule of thumb so far is ask first… :-) Been working on photos and the transform (for scaling and rotating etc) has been helpful and modify for smoothing out the edges.

batch feature ROCKS! 4 years ago

Yesterday a friend came over to show me how the Batch Feature works (File>Automate>Batch). I had already figured out how to set up actions but I had to open each picture and “play”. With the batch feature you can dump all the photos in a folder and have the same changes made to each one automatically. You can actually walk away from the computer to have your cup of coffee instead of having to drink it in front of the computer!! WOW! This is an essential and basic thing to learn if you are dealing with photos! It’s good to have a “photoshop” friend!

easier said than done 4 years ago

I did manage to do photoshop for most of the two weeks I set as my goal. Still in order to really learn photoshop it’s got to be incorporated into every day! It’s so easy to forget how to do things. I think it’s difficult to learn photoshop without some regular help or tips from people who know it better. My next photoshop goal is to find a person to help me out for at least 30 minutes a week. Someone who can answer my questions or help me to do something faster or in another way. Of course, I’ll also try to practice or use photoshop everyday.

if you work with digital photos 4 years ago

yes i do. so i started my photoshop learning by looking at the included tutorial and just began at the beginning. the hour went by fast and i felt lost even with step-by-step directions but my “after” photo certainly looked better than the original “before” i made the corrections. YAY! i am cheering myself because just even committing my time to this and then actually doing it so far has been such a hurdle. i hope i can hang on for the two weeks!

life long learning 4 years ago

Photoshop is not something one ever finishes learning and that’s why it’s such a daunting task for me but I’ve decided to cut myself some slack and limit this goal to specifically: LEARN AS MUCH AS I CAN OF PHOTOSHOP FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS STARTING SEPTEMBER 8TH. As much as I can means that I will commit at least one hour of every day.
