Happy Independance day! 3 years ago

I wanted to post a link to a crossword puzzle game that I did on shockwave games today. The puzzle was a photo of two cats in a patriotic theme. You might need to do a free sign up for shockwave to access the game/picture.

I came here to cheer myself up 3 years ago

There have not been enough posts lately so I looked over some of the old posts. They made me smile.

This post is going to be a series.

It starts with Diamond at the screen door wishing she were outside.

I just recieved this picture from my son 3 years ago

He got married last week. He moved to Texas. His wife’s cat is now his cat. This is a picture of all of them.

Been busy 3 years ago

I have not been taking pictures lately. I have been moving from my main house into my guest house. I have pretty much got everything moved or put into storage. Once I get my stuff arranged in the guest house I will be taking pictures with a vengence again.

New surrounding always spark new ideas for pictures. I saw a digital momenent this morning with 3 of my cats on one couch but I did not have my camera handy. I did not even know where it was. I located it now, but the cats are not on the couch together anymore.

Here is an old picture. I do not remember if I have shared this one before or not. It is my middle daughters cat. Her name is Mamma Cat. She was getting her fur done at the groomers just before she moved in with my daughter in Anahiem CA.

Wolfie's tail 3 years ago

I just LOVE Wolfie’s tail. So do the other cats. They like to play with it. He is very protective of his tail. I just think it is beautiful!

Given 3 years ago

Given was a stray that we found in our neighborhood when he was about 4 months old. We kept seeing him and feeding him but he would not let us get close to him. After seeing him occasionally for a couple of days, we decieded to find him and bring him in before the coyotes of my neighborhood got him.

The night we got him, we heard him crying and found him up under one of our neighbor’s cars. The neighbors put some light out for us so we could see him better and get to him. I got ahold of him to pull him out and he screamed like he was dying. All of his sharp parts were in my hand and wrist. He was determined to kill me.

I took him home and put him under an upside down crate. Me and my kids were all looking at him. He starting bouncing around in circles and spitting in every direction everytime he landed. I worked with him alone for about 2 hours. The transformation that took place in those 2 hours was a miracle. He totally mellowed out into this sweet lovable kitten.

We made him stay inside for a couple of months. I usually do not allow my cats outside until they are at least 6 months old and then try to make sure they are inside before dark. Once I let him out he stayed out and did not come back for a couple of days. When he came back he was fine. I did not want to get him neutered because I thought it would be a waste of time for him. He liked the outdoors too much.

As a tom cat he was in many fights. I believe most of the fights were with coyotes though. He would come home with his shoulders shreded. I would doctor and put him on restriction from going outside. He would act like he was not even sore. But it took about 3 weeks for each of these wounds to heal.

One day he came back limping. This caught my attention since he rarely showed signs of pain. When I examined his paw, it was obvious from the bite marks that his paw had been in a mouth. The punctures were high up on his paws and went all the way through. I did the best I could for him but the sores kept getting re-infected. I took him to the vet and they surgically made a way for me to be able to clean it out properly and put him on antibiotics.

Several years later when we were getting the females cats spayed we decieded to go ahead and get him neutered. We had kept him VERY happy with several female cats that enjoyed his company. The vet was shocked at how mellow he was.

Since he got neutered, he is now AFRAID to go outside. He is a changed cat. He used to hate being on beds, now he loves beds and soft things. He used to prefer sleeping on the hard floor or cement. Now he is a soft cushy cat.

My oldest daughter named him Given. She was the first one to see him. She named him Given saying that he was “given” to us by God. My sons did not like the name so they call him Gibbons. I call him Mr. Givens.

Wolfie 3 years ago

Wolfie loves me. But in this picture he was mad because I was not letting him in when he asked. I was tring to get a picture of him meowing. I finally did. In the close up, it looks like his eyes are about to pop out. He still loves me. I do not tease him very often.

Mama Cat 3 years ago

She has been with our family the longest. She is aproxiametly 8 years old. When my middle daughter was is Jr. High, a friend of hers brought her to us. She was about 4 months old at that time. The friend said her father would not let her keep the kitty because she was too noisy. She is a VERY talkitive siamese mix. I ready wanted to say no. My daughter put her in my arms and the kitty was purring loudly. She rubbed her face on my face and tried to suck my ear. The purring in my ear was so loud and sounded so loving. I melted.

We did not get her spaded right away. Selling her kittens financed several birthdays for my children. All my kids birthdays are soon after Christmas so we had been having a difficult time with birthdays. Mama cat always had beautiful kittens. My cat Wolfie is her 1st born. Many of her kittens had siamese points. Even Wolfie’s ears, feet and tail are darker orange than the fur on his body. If her kittens had dark points I sold them for 25, if nothing special then 10. She had 1 kitten that was full on Flame Point. I did not know the value. I sold him for 50, I could have gotten more.

Mama Cat is spaded now. She is the only cat in my 2nd daughters home. She is pampered and spoiled. When I visit my daughter, Mama Cat jumps in my lap and purrs vigorously.
