I got stuck at 33 oz and that’s not enough water. My fingertips stay indented if I press on them. My body is crying out for water and I need to drink it in! I will build up to two carafes. First, I’m going to finish carafe #1 during the day and have more with dinner.

I haven’t been starting early enough and end up drinking only about 33oz—half of what I need. I am going to focus on drinking enough water this week.
I found unbreakable, dishwasher-safe carafes to drink out of and I like them better than my old mug. I like that they’re clear, come with a top, and can go right into the dishwasher. I feel a little lacking in manners to drink straight out of a carafe, but oh well!
I just need to take one with me every morning!
I am drinking my 2 liters a day pretty much, but I am so thirsty half the time. I need to figure out if I need a few more ounces, if it’s the food I’m eating, or what. I’m craving salt, too. Maybe I’ll have a sports drink and see if things even out.
I have a 34 oz Bubba Keg mug that I’ve been using and it’s working out great. I am drinking more, recognizing thirst as thirst (I don’t have to force it down anymore), and continuing to find unexpected benefits. For example, for years I’ve had deep ridges on my nails. Well, guess what, the only thing I’ve changed is hydrating my body, and they are completely gone. :)
Arrowhead delivery didn’t adjust for the extra week in January, so we ran out of water a couple days ago. I went online to see our next delivery date and add some extra bottles as backup, then went to Smart and Final to tide us over. I found we are paying way too much for the convenience of home delivery! So I cancelled it and am going to pick up enough for a month plus some disaster supply.
I’m finding I’m not filling my bottle in the morning, so I’m going to see if I can add it to my night routine. If I can just start drinking the water early enough, I’ll be able to get it down easier.
I still have to consciously do this and plan it early enough in the day. But overall, I’m drinking more than I was.
The kids brought in some lemons yesterday that fell off the tree, so I squeezed some lemon juice into my water. That helped it go down! The two year old liked it, too, he actually chose lemon water as his treat for using the bathroom. :)
The sermon at church today was about taking care of yourself (part of “Stressed to Blessed” series). One of the main points was drinking enough water! It was a great reinforcement. He talked about drinking half your weight in ounces daily, how thirst can be mistaken for hunger and cause fuzzy thinking, etc.
Even though God wants me to drink more water, I still had to bribe myself with a square of Hershy’s chocolate to get my first 32 oz bottle down. :)
I was making lunch and realized I hadn’t had any water. So I told myself I could have some rootbeer if I finished my morning bottle (32 oz) with lunch. It worked! I ended up meeting my daily goal before dinner. I am noticing positive changes that I didn’t even realize were dehydration related.
I need to start my first bottle mid-morning. If I wait until lunch, I won’t get to the second bottle until too late in the day. If I link filling my bottle with breakfast (which I always eat), maybe that’ll help me remember.
