In February I launched my wedding & events business

In April we officially launched and I did a lot of groundwork for the first year. I haven’t made a great deal of turnover or any profit and barely able to pay myself much for my efforts but I am proud of how hard I worked on marketing and PR.

In July, another opportunity came my way and I started as a Herbalife Distributor with the intention of running an Arriba wellness centre.I havent given this my undivided attention which is much needed as the bread and butter is really about keeping my 3rd business afloat with my husband.

In August we set up a business together. Lee is a brilliant chef and I do all the reservations and events. We are a fab team together and we know it really works well. We run it as a cafe during the day and a restaurant by night. We have recieved over 90 testimonials since launching and had over 500 people through our doors. The business went into profit after 3 months which we have been very excited about. We have become so popular now all our events are booked up before we market them to general public and we have many repeat bookings. We thoroughly enjoy what we do even in the quieter times but so glad we are feathering our own nest and not someone elses!
Now we will look at expanding into another location by August this year…so watch this space!

Registered self employed February 9th.

I have 3 weddings booked in Cyprus for 2012. I ahve started a unique company for ladies events and have helped promote my husbands business.Still trying to organise a grant.

Have been beavering away..but its been a lot of red tape and why is it you have it all set out in your business plan and then some red tape person ties it all up in red tape for you?? arrghhh!

Thank heavens for the internet, Ive found some fabulous info that will help with contacts, how to start a catering business and finances. I also found a very very good website on a lady that started her hen party business a few years ago in another country and she has been very successful winning buisness woman of the year in her country. Although the business name and website was different from my vision her concepts were the same with package design and this gave me a useful insight into whether it is do able.

Have been very poorly and not able to cope with much but have had one response from a supplier witha kitchen who is willing to rent to us on an hourly basis as and when we need it.
This looks very hopeful. Going to see it on Sunday.

I am very focused on this goal.

Contacted lots of people I know to get their help!

Have also generated a few events and proposals including a Chateau on board.

I have been very poorly this week but need a few good nights sleep to improve my health and then I’ll be raring to go!

Right – buisness start up to be completed by end of February and Im just gonna have to get on with it.

I know this is my way forward because I never want to wake up in the morning again and think Oh no I dont want to go to work!.
I’m not exactly springing out of bed to do that at the moment and I want to work for myself so I can really look forward to it and love every minute of what I am doing.

I have been invited to a network meeting for business start ups. Despite not having any word on the grant as yet Im going to attend, you never know who you might meet!

Have chased once again for my Aqua fitness certificate and the enterprise grant… there’s something to be said for those that dont take no for an answer.

another business selling up, everytime I join a company they start making redundancies and eventually they sell up..classic signs, should ahve seen this one coming. This has happened 6 times in 4 years now! ONE BIG REASON WHY I SHOULD WORK FOR MYSELF!
