end of month 7 months ago

Looking forward to the end of the month when I can tackle as many as possible and have a little freedom to take one day as it comes without worry.

getting organised 8 months ago

Went through some of the bills whilst in the garden in the sunshine and set up payments to be made on line. Hardly had to make thousands of calls and little bartering to organise. Pretty straight forward, will have to get used to this as not much time after work. With the new bank account I don’t have to worry, when wages go in they are in the billing account, I’ve asked for a percetage of my salary to be transfered to my card account and all the bills will be paid on 1st of each month, which means I can’t overspend and I can manage my account online! Makes me happy and stress free :o)

Bills are still rolling in 8 months ago

I cancelled all the direct debits and re instated them for after we have 2 incomes coming in. However, other bills are rolling in so probably spend a lot of time this weekend either on the phone or writing letters. I long for the day when my weekends will be my own that I can enjoy instead of having to fulfil housekeeping duties when all I need to do is pay them when I get paid.

flagging 8 months ago

I’ve flagged on this one again. Starting afresh, cancel all direct debits until end of month and will be up and running back in May when we ahve stability of 2 incomes coming in.

Carbon footprint 8 months ago

I did my carbon footprint to help reduce the bills and made an action plan.

getting the house in order 8 months ago

Paid some of the essential bills and did some budgeting for the rest. It’s all about timing for us and bit of a juggling act. I’m confident we can eliminate most by the end of the year and start with a clean slate.

stepping stones 8 months ago

They may be small ones but at least I’ve started an attempt. Also decided that I shouldn’t be taking all of the burden of paying them.
1. I’ve listed the houshold and personal outgoings for both of us.
2. By the weekend I will have set up a house file so that Lee can access the info and help keep track of the bills.
3.Whats coming in on a regular basis is noted on the calendar so we both know if we will have the funds to pay for something by a certain date.
4.Write /email/visit some of the companys we are dealing with and change dates /accounts e.t.c
5. Look for good deals that would benefit us.
I have already made appointments with the C.A.B and council. I’ve encouraged Lee to call some of the companys. Changes as of 1st April when we have 2 salarys coming in and hopefully catch up with arrears.

NEXT STEP 9 months ago

04/03/09 As I have made an agreement with the landlord to reduce the rent so I can cover some of the bills I pulled them all out this morning and set up direct debits for each utility. The council tax has been the most problematic and they have been unhelpful when ever I’ve called so still trying to resolve this one.

this is down to procrastination on my part 9 months ago

The bills come in and I’m just lazy or if it’s an amount I can’t pay it sits in the pile. Have good intentions but now I have a little extra income to play with the bills are coming out! Plan of action…er not sure will take advice from 43 T’s pleasse!
