to the roster of organics in my shopping cart. That and only buying organic meats is enough to keep me busy with this goal for quite a while.
I firmly believe this should be a process and not a completely 180o change in diet. Adding things bit by bit is less of an assault to my grocery budget, and makes me really appreciate each new item that is introduced.
I’m finding that working toward this goal has made me more aware of the food I’m eating. I’m much less likely to eat processed crap, and it has in turn made my diet healthier. I have a looong way to go, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far.

It feels good to be working on this goal…it is slow but steady progress. So far I have converted to organic milk, bread and pasta, certain fruits (berries mostly) and vegetables, and I just started buying poultry.
I tried buying organic garbanzo beans and making hummus – but that was so disgusting to me that I won’t ever put that in my mouth again. No more beans. I never liked beans before so I don’t know why I thought being on a health kick would change my mind!
So far adding a few organic items here and there hasn’t changed my grocery bill significantly. I’m sure it’s higher, but adding a little bit at a time makes the increase not quite as painful.
