Do you know what ‘domestic archaeology’ is? Its when you are going through piles of stuff in old cupboards or boxes, or in the attic or cellar. Taking off layers of time, going back to the distant past.
Some people call it ‘tidying up’, and throw away things from the lower layers. Me, I can’t do that, everything has archaeological, sentimental value. The tiniest scrap of paper from 12 years ago takes me back to the place I was and the person I was when I wrote it.
I’m trying to not be so attached to things, but I don’t think I’ve done enough to tick the green box yet for this item. Watch this space.
