Learn to play the piano

I loveeeeeee the piano so much. This is the only thing on my list which I have been consistent with. I have started to play more classical music. I have learnt to play “River flows in you” by Yiruma and “Fur Elise” by Beethoven. I love to play classical music so much. I am going to continue learning more classical songs through youtube but I am also starting to learn more theory. I want to be able to read music and play by ear also. Those are my next challenges for learning to play piano.

I have been learning “River flows in you” by Yiruma. I am able to play it well but I still need to practice to get it perfect. I am so going to develop this talent of mine. A friend lent me a book called “Secrets to playint piano by ear” I am praying that this helps me to start playing by ear so I can play in church. It says that it can help someone to learn it in weeks so Im going to go through it and try to grasp as much as I can from the book and his websites/videos. He has full length youtube videos which are so informative. I am on holidays this week so I will focus on learning as much as I can from him.

I have learnt how to play Awesome God and Diary by Alicia Keys. She is like my inspiration. I love the way she plays piano and sings. I know alot of people can do that but I just like her :) I am going to try to learn her songs mainly.

I never thought that I would be able to play such a hard song like Diary but yep its possible. I am also going to learn how to sing it too. My voice sounds good but its nothing like Leona Lewis. Its just normal and I can hit notes good. I can play Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. Actually I can sing like Vanessa. I can make my voice sound just like hers. I hope that one day I meet a cool guy who I can sing/play too. Im gone to practice right now.

I performed at a gospel concert tonight. The youth band that I am now wrote a really good song and I played the piano for it. It sounded extremely well and I am soooooo proud of myself. My dad was extemely proud of me like for the first time lol. I have been blessed the past couple of days and I am soooooo happy. I am now determined to learn even more. Our youth band has another performance the end of March so we gonna start practicing tommorow.

I am going to learn River flows in you by Yiruma aka Bellas lullaby in twilight. Its quite a tricky piece but I know I can do it.

All those years when I was at home and bored I should have just went downstairs and played the piano but noooooo I wasted my time on stupid stuff/people. I have been doing well at this and my dad has been telling me that I have been doing well which is surprising because my dad doesnt praise me much lol. He even said that I am meant to play because I can pick up songs quickly. I can play 1000 miles by Vanessa Carlton. I learnt that a while back but I have been practicing. Sometimes in the middle of the night I feel like going downstairs and playing the piano.

I am going to start learning chords and more difficult songs. I downloaded this ebook which I will start using to help me read music. I would even take exams one day. I have been getting involved in church activities more and they have been encouraging me to practice then play in services…my church is small so they notice talent very quick hahaha.

Today I got a call from someone asking me to join gospel band at church so that means I have to start practicing like crazy. I have been learning how to play Mad by Neyo. I have picked it up really quickly just need to learn how to play it at the right speed. This could be a good oppourtunity for me to actually do something cool with my life.

I am ready to return to this goal. My dad has been playing like all his life, hes really good and he plays at church. I wish that I was one of those kids who took piano lessons from a young age however that is not the case so I have to be trying to become a more skillful adult which I will be one in 3 months. I know how to play a few songs on the piano…just the chorus if that matters. I am also going to start studying the notes and all of that. This is one of my new year resolutions this year. I would loveeeee to play the piano at church. I remember when I went to a church when I was in Canada and this young lady was playing the piano so well. My main source for learning the piano will be youtube. Thats what I used last time. They have many piano tutorials on many different songs. I seem to learn pretty fast and I keep on practicing so I plan to continue learning.
