remain childfree

I admire those who are good parents.

I hope I will be able to meet a man who also chooses not to have children.

I work with children. I like children (for the most part!)
But I don’t want any of my own. It’s taken me about 2 years to come to that decision. Why no kids?
1. Childbirth and pregnancy have never been appealing to me.
2. I’d rather spend my life helping the world’s children, instead of focusing on one or two.
3. I cherish my independent lifestyle.

The discouraging thing is that it seems most men want to have children (especially Christian men). I feel my chances of having a partner with similar wishes are very slim. I am 33 years old, and some people say I’ll change my mind when I meet “Mr. Right.” Am I the only woman who is offended by this comment?
