I want to dress up like a pirate, hijack a galleon, and board cruise ships without permission. I won't steal anything -- just make the passengers drink rum and wake up wondering if the night before really happened...

Riding on the Hokulea was enough boat ride for me. I passed out ginger candy to seasick teenagers. They weren’t really crasy about the taste of it, so it was a bit rum like. I’m moving this off the list for now.

I wonder if I can figure out how to go on a boat ride this week. I work with someone who has one who is going on a big trip to another island. I don’t want to do the trip, but I want to get off the island and into the water. Maybe a row boat.

I got to go on the Hokulea at NIGHT and learn how they used the stars to navigate the canoe! I am so grateful. It was one of the most beautiful scenes you could ever imagine. We were offshore from Waikiki as the sun set. I’ve never seen the sun so red or so big. Then there was an almost full moon. The city lights were to the right, open ocean to the left, and we could see all the stars. It just doesn’t get better.

One of the students had this great shirt that said, “Surrender the Booty” from American Eagle Outfitters.
I didn’t get seasick this time either.

So instead of passing out rum, I passed out ginger candies and acupressure wrist bands for sea sickness. Neither worked for a couple of the students. I didn’t realize that they had already barfed.

I got to go for a sail on the Hokulea today. It was probably equivalent to getting to go in the NASA zero gravity plane in my estimation. Here I am looking out at Waikiki.

I’m wondering whether I could dress up in a pseudo female pirate outfit for the pictures and have it be my little inside joke. What to wear? I know I have to wear one of those seasick wrist bands for sure.

So I get to go on a ride on the Hokule’a with the class I’m teaching in about a week and a half. I will not attempt to hijack any cruise ships. I won’t drink or force any tourists to drink, like anyone would have to force them. I will be in HEAVEN. I’m so excited and I will take pictures!

So those who don’t want to drink the rum, I’ll do hypnosis.
