Just managed to have a good day with fun and all. Saw magical gardens with my granddaughter. Spoke with friends. Did calculus and work a little. Did good tweets and books arrived from amazon. All this in one day, lucky me.

There was a free slack key guitar festival in Waikiki this afternoon that I managed to get to. One of the treasures of living in Hawaii is that there are tons of opportunities to hear fabulous music free at rand times. Today I heard John Cruz but missed Makana. You never know when you’ll stumble onto it or you can just plan and find it. It’s just wounderful.there was a hippie lady dancing with suggestive abandon, a guy in a wheelchair singing his heart out, and a little girl in a white cotton dress with pink embroidery that refused to sleep leave or stop dancing.usic touchs peoples souls in a way that nothing else can.

I’m developing smile wrinkles from my job! I noticed them yesterday after realizing that I have a part time job that requires that I not only smile but also play. Really play, which comes from a good place in my brain. How cool is that.

My middle daughter graduated from college today. 2 ex husbands and their families attended. Time passes and life goes on.

I started a twitter account to see what it might be like. I like it. I reconnected with people of similar interests. Lots of poetry in those short little messages.

The ocean was glassy smooth this morning so I whipped out the cell phone to shoot the view between the mangroves as we chugged along. This is why I ride the bus, besides other reasons. I get to look at this part twice a day.

We woke up to 58 degree weather. Freezing cold and pretty clear.

I really love my new job. The guy that runs the place is amazing; creative, innovative, brilliant and above all, kind and compassionate. He has a fun group of hard working folks doing a great job and I’m really honored to be there. We have the opportunity to do really interesting innovative work that can really benefit people in a sort of unnoticed way. Its remarkable.

Some times no matter how hard you try to make it all just happy it isn’t. You just want to lie flat on your back and let the wave of the futility of anyones life wash over you so that your own inconsequential life can flow along with all the rest. Just barf up the sorrow and sink into the quicksand until you can’t fight for breath any more. Its probably good to have one of those once in a while. Its the soul equivalent of plucking your eyebrows. Just roll to the very bottom of the hill and start up the trail again after a nap.

My boss told me I’m the goddess of QA today as I left work. I have been doing testing and I’m making good finds. I want to bring the developer a gift of goodies, but the whole office is on a weight loss program. I appreciate how hard he is working and he’s fixing bugs as fast as I can report them.

It was nice to be named a goddess of something that I don’t think will piss off any of the real goddesses.

The woman who started the childrens museum that I work at got an award last night for helping promote world peace. She was very sweet to come in this morning and share with the staff how she felt about the recognition. She said its because everyone that works wit her halped with the achievement. It was good timing for her to get recognition and validation. She deserved it and so I was happy for her. It also helped me with some issues that I was dealing with. Sometimes its the ripple in the pond you know. By helping kids have a fun day and just playing, you make it a better day. There could be a memory there for one of the children that could some day make a difference in an unexpected way.
