ride my bike more often

i will clean it off and pump up the tires and RIDE somewhere, anywhere…

i was loving the bike riding in geneva. to and from work. to and from after work things. long rides up lac leman on the weekend. i was determined that when i returned back to the states, some of this bike riding would continue. i have been back for two weeks, and so far my bike remains in the hallway. what is the problem? i don’t know. lazy? maybe. but it was so easy to bike in geneva because it was such a biking community. it was an easy motivator when you see everyone else doing it too. what will be my motivator here?

about europe is all the cycling. when i lived in geneva this summer, i was amazed by everyone who rides their bike everywhere and to everything. i bought a bike, which promptly got stolen by those law abiding swiss. but for the short time it was mine, i enjoyed it so much. i don’t think i can bike to work here (no shower, or even good bathroom, too many commitments after work, nasty route, etc) but at least i can try to ride more in prospect park. although it will never be the same feeling as utilitarian riding. so home (park slope) to school (the upper west side)? a bit of a stretch but we will see :)
