learn actionscript

I finally got my act together and taught myself ActionScript. My biggest barrier to learning it was that I don’t use Flash on a regular basis so learning a new scripting language in addition to learning how Flash works always seemed like quite a steep mountain to climb.

Now I’m using Flex at work on a daily basis so knowing ActionScript is a must. It has definitely been worth the effort as Flex is rather awesome once you get the hang of it.

So I finally sat down in front of the computer and started working through my actionscript book, Object-Oriented ActionScript for Flash 8. It’s an interesting experience as I’m well-versed in php, but know pretty much nothing about OOP nor Flash.
