I’m marking this as done. I haven’t been posting much here, but some new recipes I’ve tried are: pumpkin pie, pecan tarts, angel food cake, a 3 layer chocolate cake with whipped ganache and a chocolate glaze(!), walnut bread, and probably others I have forgot to mention.
I’m still going to continue doing this as I love trying out new recipes.

From the Martha Stewart baking book. These need a do-over because using 1% milk instead of 2% or more leads to an extra wet batter. I’d like to try using heavy cream instead. I’m sure it would be SO tasty and not very healthy at all.

Made with full cream and no butter, these are light and flaky. I will definitely be making these again!

It’s only July, but I’m pretty sure I can cross this goal off my list. I’m having fun writing about my new recipes, so I’ll keep this up until I get bored of it.
Made these muffins from the Vegan with a Vengeance cookbook. These were extremely tasty and I’d definitely make them again. I added a squeeze of a bit of half a lemon (maybe about 2 tablespoons) because I didn’t think they’d be lemony enough.
Oh, and I also made a tiramisu about a week ago. If you’re afraid of baking, make a tiramisu—no baking required!

I made bread from scratch! No mixer, no bread machine, but my own two hands. I must say it’s satisfying pounding the crap out of dough for 20 minutes.
It’s a Brioche and it’s delicious! Eggy, dense, and a flakey, crispy crust.

Made a dish called Exploding Noodles. It’s rice sticks fried and expands very quickly (hence the term exploding noodles). It was really tasty and didn’t taste greasy at all. It was tossed with some soy sauce, sugar, hoison, and vinegar mix. Very easy to prepare, maybe 7 mins?

Made Real Chocolate Wafer cookies from the baking book Bittersweet. They’re crispy and addictive. I still can’t get the log shape correct as it’s always flattened on one side. The only solution I can think of is to stuff it in an empty Pringles tube.
These wafers would make a good crumb for cheese cake or maybe even pieces sprinkled in ice cream which I will be trying tonight (made sour cream ice cream today).
I’ve tried so many new recipes that I can probably check this off my list now even though it’s only May. It’s good to keep track though.

Made cocoa cupcakes from the book Sugar and some buttercream frosting. They sank which was sad, but it was still really yummy.

Rose’s Christmas Cookies is definitely an all-year round cookie book! My brownies never turn out quite right, but I am very pleased with the results I got from this book.
This trying a new recipe once a month is actually pretty easy!
