straighten my teeth

Well, my emergency appointment was a great success. I guess because I complained about not having had one for 4 months they decided to do the works on my ‘emergency’ HA. They tried to change the wire but they have become stuck. Self ligating wires will do that when not changed apparently.

Not long now and I will be able to get them off. YAY YAY YAY! I have saved enough now for 1 and a 1/2 implants. Just need another £1500 put by and I’ll be able to be all smiley-faced. I could have them off by March next year I reckon. Eek! :)

As I decided to push my luck today and book an ‘emergency appointment’ so that I could find out why my appointments are not considered necessary and why they don’t see fit to turn up!

Haven’t seen anyone since June/July time.

Orthodontist appointment coming up next week (if the orthodontist doesn’t phone to cancel an hour before AGAIN)... Lets see where that gets me… my centre lines are all off again and I am getting seriously stressed about it! JOY. Joy. joy.

She’s said ‘Not too much longer left now’... which means I might be on a retainer by the end of the year. OoooooooOOoooooooOOOoooooo! I’ve grown to love my brace!!!!

My little cousin wont recognise me. He calls me ‘The one what got the stars stuck to her teeth’. Yes… that’s me- I tried to eat the universe :). Bless him.

After the retainer for 6-12 months… I’ll then have to have implants which will cost me in excess of £5,000 to replace the 2 falsies I’ve got in at the moment. Scary stuff!

Orthodontist appointment today. I wonder what excitement awaits me! :)

I’ve had my final surgery now before the implants… which should be possible by the end of next year, if not before. I love it when a plan comes together :).

Can’t wait to get the braces off and start the retainers so I can get the final stages underway.

I went in for surgery today to have a temporary anchorage device fitted. It hurts at the moment A LOT and it’s been wired underneath my tongue which is making it hard to speak and eat and pretty much do anything. It sucks!

I’ve already got a cut appearing in my tongue- which will probably result in another infection where I’ll see a doctor who will tell me that the orthodontic devices are detrimental to my health and should thus be removed. (Not likely! After nearly 7 years of procedures!)

Then I say that I will raise the issue with my orthodontic consultant, go home with the antibiotics and painkillers prescribed and wait til it goes away. This time I’m in more pain than I’m used to and have a screw through my jaw which pokes out the other side and is cutting me to shreds. I am NOT amused!

I know it’ll settle in, in a few weeks/days time… but the inbetween time puts my life on hold. I’m not letting it though- I’ve got a dissertation exercise to write, a boyfriend to let come see me and if he’s good make me cold coffee and a meal with my girlfriends to go to. The annoyance is just another part in parcel to getting the straight teeth that I foresee at the end of this arduous and long-long-ongoing treatment.

I’ve got the braces for another year now… my root structure’s deteriorated again… n so I basically have to start from scratch.

Still, it’ll give me more time to find the money to pay for it, so… it’s all good!

Got an appointment with my lovely orthodontist in the am. She’s going to be annoyed at me for not coming sooner when my brace broke. My own fault :).

It’s taking longer than anyone expected but I kinda like my braces :)... I’ll miss them when they’re gone LOL. How sad! That wont be at least til a couple of months after my 20th because of the extensive work I have to have done when they’re straightened.

Had some more elastics put on today. Now my jaw aches but I’m quietly content with the whole thing :). It’s defo worth it!
