If I had the guts- I'd write...

“Luke, I miss you.”

Ethics

Apparently a British company have just bought a bottle out that is biodegradable in 5 years. This means that I’d have less of a problem completing this goal and if I can find out what company it is I will do it when I go to the seaside on the 15-19th February!

What do I write in this final attempt at sending a message in a bottle (for this goal) though!!??

Considering a time & place

I am going on holiday with Ben at the end of September! Hopefully I will do this then as something to memorise the time away.

AND to offset the fact that I will be throwing a bottle into the ocean… I guess I will donate some money to some environmental charity. I will give it some thought before I do… and make my message count!!!!

I've done it!!!!

Sooo, for years I’ve been trying to think of a way around the obvious problems with this goal- for example the littering or possibility of broken glass resulting in injury to some unknown being on a beach somewhere :)... Then I had a brain wave a few weeks back. Luke’s 21st Birthday was approaching and I went shopping and bought him a bottle topper with “21” on it. Then I washed up an old magners bottle which was kindly donated by someone I live with. Ben cleaned off the sticker marks for me and I wrote a pencil note on a piece of A4 paper. A message to be opened in the future- so that he will always know how much he was loved when he was younger.

It also means that although I know the message is going to him… I cannot possibly know the Luke of the future and soooo… it’s still got some of the mystery of that sending a message out into the world beyond the horizon. Plus it’s very personal. I don’t care if he opens it when he’s 60 or in two days time, that’s up to him… the main idea is that I put my message to him into a bottle and sealed it… and gave it to him in time for his 21st birthday. My message is out there somewhere.

I’m going to do the same for Ben in a couple of months as there are some things I want to say… his will hopefully go into a treasure chest :) with some lucky chocolate coins and a few odds and ends…

CastAway

The closest I’ve come to doing this is the Castaway app on Fbook. Haha… I really want to do this over the summer but I’m questioning how to go about it. Hmmmm.

Soon my little bottle shall be floating away...

Awww this is such a romantic idea… that I soo wanna do!!!! Maybe i could have a message in a bottle beach party hehehe. Cant wait to do it. But what to write in my message in a bottle??? hmmmmmmm
