Another chapter finished!

I finished a chapter yesterday. Still feeling a bit frustrated at how long this is taking me but nevermind. The next chapter is ‘shapes’. I’m trying to find out if I can take an iGCSE somewhere local (no coursework).

Still making slow progress with this – did some work on ‘inequalities’ last night. Managed them ok.

Still managing to plug away at this. Did about 45 minutes last night.

Still going!

Now half way through chapter 2 of my book. Yay. Don’t know if maths will ever be my ‘thing’ but I still want that A level.

Struggling on...

Did another hour or so with the maths book last night. Was a bit fed up at first as I really didn’t ‘get’ what we were trying to do (my other half was helping me) but at the end of our session I felt more positive and actually started to get the hang of a few things. Hooray! I fear this is going to take me a long time to do and I’ll probably find it hard to stick to. I reckon it will take me at least 6 months to work through the GCSE stuff before I can start thinking about the A Level. Yikes.

Maths = mental block!

I’ve always had a bit of a mental block when it comes to maths. I can do the basics – I mean, I got grade C at O level (admittedly a while ago) so I can’t have been that awful at it! So – I decided to try and conquer my maths-fear and work towards getting an A level. I bought myself a GCSE book to go through which I started looking at a few weeks ago – but then we went on holiday and I haven’t picked it up for a while. Luckily my other half loves maths (strange) and has done degree level stuff so I’ve got myself a live-in tutor. Yay! I picked up the book again last night and spent about an hour on it. Going to go and do a bit more tonight right after I’ve finished here.
