continue to encourage the separation of church and state

I was watching frontline in novemeber and I saw this program about abortion laws all over the Us but especially in the deep south of Mississippi. Although I most personally understand why one would not want to have an abortion, I believe in advocating abortion. I myself have had an abortion and it was very difficult for me, and that was in the most liberal town in the nation. I can only imagine the trama of having to have this done while being harrassed about it. Anyway, I’ve decided that I am going to fight this the only way I know works and that’s with money. Anti-choice lobbyists have so much support financially and have used that to limit a woman’s right to an abortion. It is many peoples purpose to compleatly ban abortion in Mississippi. In Mississippi it is illegal for any federal, state or insurance funding to go to pay for an abortion, or anything in a medical establisment that provides abortion as an option for family planning. You may feel that could make scence but a large majority of the women seeking abortions are uneducated black women who may already have children they can’t take care who are living under the poverty level and starving. This is a form of socioeconomic racism, and the merging of religious interests into the government. Women have to consult a docter 24 hours before the procedure is preformed, have parental consent from both parents. Because of laws like these and the stategic moves of the anti choice movement in mississippi, there is only one clinic remaining. In a state where most people in need of abortion services are living under the poverty line, this makes it next to impossible to recieve these services, as transportation is impossible. I have organized events and a benefit dinner to bring awareness and raise funds to help pay and provide transportation and housing for women who cannot afford this necessary procedure. If you want to help, please ask I will tell you what I know. There are laws like this all over the nation, we need to wake up to our rights at risk.
