...write what you know, but then again that doesn’t always apply to science fiction books and such, but anyway. I’ve decided to write a book about growing up in Alaska. I’ve written an outline of it and started a short intro. I think I will have fun writing it. As I was writing the outline I realized that the tone of my book will be humorous, something I didn’t think I could write well but some of my chapter names are pretty funny I think, and the stories even funnier.

I’m not going to give away everything about this book. But I will say that I will be using 43things to track some of my goals that will be highlighted in the book.

I can’t wait to get my stories written, show off some Alaskan pictures from our family album, and put together some other stories from my family and friends.

I’m guessing it will probably take 1-2 years to write my book due to it including projects/activities that I have yet to accomplish before I write about them.

Novel Idea 3 years ago

I have an idea for a novel but whenever people ask me what it’s about or what kind of genre it is it’s really hard to pin it down. In a way, I sort of like how it’s not a simple novel. I’m about 10 pages into writing my first draft. I have a simple outline of what I want to happen in the book but it’ll probably shift around. I like writing stories where I don’t know what’s going to happen. I get so caught up in it it’s like I’m simply the person recording things happening while actually being part of the story. Ah, I love that feeling of being so consumed in a story.

Note to self: Fave pen= Precise Pilot Rolling Ball Fine Point <<< Writing w/ this pen is lots of fun because it’s very “flowy”. It helps you write quicker and keeps your mind on the story, not how hard you have to stab through the paper to get the stupid ink to come out.

playing around w/ an idea 4 years ago

I started writing a book about overcoming depression. It made perfect sense to pursue this because 1) I love writing, 2) I’ve overcome my depression, and 3) I feel I have some advice I could give to people that could help them.

Who knows, one day you might see my book on the shelf. All I can do is be completely honest in my writing and hope for the best.
