save $1,000 in an emergency fund

Luckily I had $300 in my emergency fund. I found out yesterday one of my molars is cracked down to the gum. I had no idea how spendy a crown would be (I’ve never had one). But if it weren’t for the $300 I had saved up, originally for a TV my husband has been wanting, I would have been screwed. I’ll definetly need to focus on beefing up my emergency fund now. I’ve just been lucky that I haven’t needed it for anything.

I need to hold a few yard sales and sell some more stuff on craigslist & ebay so I can afford the $600 crown (that doesn’t count the other visits to the dentist I need). Lol. I sound so white trash, holding yard sales for crown money. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
