Didn’t quite make the goal this week, but increasing my exercise really paid off. Lost 2 lbs. this week. I’m just one more away from checking off this mini-goal.

12 down, 3 to go. I really need some new clothes for work…and the reward for reaching this goal is supposed to be these clothes…given what I’ve been losing on a weekly basis, it might be a stretch, but I’m going to try really hard to reach this by next weekend.
Another stressful week, but I worked hard to not destroy myself with bad food choices and I worked out more in order to relieve some of the stress. Managed to shed another pound.
11 down, 4 to go.
I highly recommend the book “In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto.”

It’s pretty eye opening to the current food environment we live in today and how we got here.
Well, I’m still at 10 down, 5 to go. But, it was a pretty stressful week with lots of changes at work, some good and some sad…so, I’m pretty happy that I stayed put and didn’t put any weight back on.
10 down, 5 to go.
Discovered my new favorite treat…a cup of fresh raspberries drenched in half a cup of non-fat vanilla yogurt. Amazing!
I behaved myself over the Easter holiday…talked with my family about my doctor’s visits, contributed some healthy foods to the Easter feast and didn’t stuff myself into a stuper.
My sister was kind enough to tell the Easter bunny I would be more interested in almonds and a small sugar free chocolate bunny rather than the normal basket of sugar, sugar and more sugar. For years I resisted talking with anyone about weight issues, but as they say…it helps, especially when it’s family who knows what you’re dealing with.
9 down, 6 to go.
The key to my eating better has been the addition of healthy foods that I love as opposed to thinking of it as cutting out the bad things that I used to feel like I needed.
Took a small detour, got sick with symptoms that I thought might be caused by gluten intolerance, gained back what I’d lost, went to a doctor who did tests for gluten intolerance that came back negative.
But the doctor then told me what was ailing me could be due to a combination of stress and my weight and that, with my family history, I’m too close to being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes for comfort.
So, I’m back at this, and taking it very seriously. Took a good look at my eating habits and realized that even though I wasn’t eating a McDonald’s diet or tons of cookies and sweets that it was still crappy. I was getting very hungry right before I had a chance in my busy schedule to eat meals and was therefore typically shoving down the most convenient thing and lots of it. I’m now eating smaller meals and more healthy snacks…actually enjoying the food…having fewer headaches…cooking more, which I love…and losing weight at a healthy rate.
7 down, 8 to go at least for this first goal.
