be a better conversationalist

I do okay at the chit chat but not great. I’m introduced to someone and immediately forget their name. I’ll talk about a movie and forget the starring actor’s name. I’ll talk to a friend who just returned from a big family Disney vacation and I’ll forget that they were away on vacation and neglect to ask about it. I’ll close a phone conversation with a friend and neglect to say something sweet and kind before terminating and so the conversation tends to feel a little abruptly cut-off. I often find that I can be talking, telling a story and I can just lose my listener, interupted mid-story and that’s it. I suck at conversations.
