The Chairman of our Board of Directors (no joke) spoke at the training session I was at this morning, and he said that he personally takes on the responsibility of mentoring (“adopting”, he said) two employees every year. He also said that his two adoptee slots are filled. One manager asked how to get on his waiting list… I approached him after his session and asked if anyone else in our senior management had similar commitments, and he said he didn’t know. I asked if I could email him, and if he might be able to pass it along to someone that would be a good mentor fit for me. He said yes (what else could he say; I suppose I put him on the spot), so I’ll hit him up this evening.
